Elson, who was green eyed New York City native grew by traveling because of the job in advertising that her father was employed in. Andrea was already a resident of New York as well as Chicago San Diego and Los Angeles before she turned ten. In San Diego Andrea got an agent, and was able to get the part she auditioned for. Fusco explained the decision by saying "ALF has 285 years, therefore he's an adult who is able to drink alcohol." Fusco was still convinced that ALF was an adult, and could handle the drinking. He was diagnosed in 1995 with lymphoma.
