April Ross

April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is one of only a handful of female beach volleyball players who be able to do so. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time in Tokyo's Olympics, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. But more than that, Ross will be aiming for her very first Olympic gold. This may be the last opportunity she gets to do so at the age of 39. Her confidence is high but she is not sure. Ross through NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing well or at all it could be able to win gold. That's why I'm taking the chance also. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in 1982. Her parents and her sister lived there. At Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many different sports. When she was a student in the prep school she played indoor volleyball along with basketball and track. She clearly was the top at the sport of indoor volleyball. In her time at high school, she was a middle blocker outside hitter and setter at the tennis court, according to her bio at the college. Thanks to her hard work she was named an 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. In 2000, she won the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. While Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple from 2017 onward, the former was already a big-time participant on the beaches even before the pair formed. She's won big competitions with different players. A couple of those is an icon in the world of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 to 2013. She also worked with Klineman and herself. Along together with Kessy Ross was awarded a World Title in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. They went into winning a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she announced her retirement. Both went on to win the bronze beach volleyball medal at the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross was a college athlete for USC Trojans before the start of her professional career. She played during high school, and even before hitting the beach as a professional. Her career was a success in the college. In 2000 she was voted Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year and an All-American. Her Trojans made it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal defeat in her sophomore year but was still able to achieve the All-American award. Through her final two seasons with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them to win two consecutive titles. For her part, she cemented her place in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. The award is given to the top female volleyball players at colleges across the nation. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie never got to see her daughter ascend to the top levels of beach volleyball fame. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But she still keeps her parent close to heart. Margie is a beach lover and in daily life, inspires her.
